Obituary for Geoffrey L. Reinwald

Geoffrey L.  Reinwald
Geoffrey L. Reinwald, a 38 year resident of Brewster, NY, formerly of Rego Park, Queens, NY, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Carmel, NY after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 71 years old.

Geoff was born on April 7, 1947 in the Bronx, NY to James and Mildred (Silverman) Reinwald. He graduated from Newtown High School, Corona, NY and proudly served in the Air Force from October 31, 1966 to June 17, 1968.

On November 2, 1969, Geoff married the love of his life, Rhonda Strauss in the Bronx.

Geoff was an Insurance Broker for Fucito Insurance of Brewster, NY for 25 years. Recently Geoff had worked with Bruen, Deldin and Didio Insurance of Brewster.

A community man at heart, Geoff shared that love of community and helping others every chance he had. A member since March 3, 1993 of the Patterson Rotary Club family, where he was past president & board member and President of the Brewster Chamber of Commerce since 2005 and one of its board members since 1992. Geoff was an avid golfer as well. He was one with the ocean, whether a visit to the beach or one of many fishing trips with friends.

Besides his wife Ronnie of 48 years, Geoff is survived by his daughter Heather Taplin and son-in-law Wesley of Morristown, NJ and his granddaughter Alyssa Rose. Geoff is also survived by his loving sister, Barbara Plotnick of Tarrytown, NY.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 11:00AM at King David Memorial Gardens, 101 Mill Street in Putnam Valley, NY. The Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY will be assisting the family with Geoffrey’s funeral arrangements.
